WHAT WE DO FOR VETERANS
The Veterans Brigade mission is to empower veterans with high quality industry specific on-the-job training for placements in high paying mining and construction positions. The curriculum will include formal education, industry-specific functional training, and MSHA/OSHA safety certification. Prepared with basic knowledge and required safety training, participants will then advance to hands-on training on mining equipment and operations at a permitted mine site.
POTENTIAL CAREER PATHS:
- Blast Hole Drilling and Detonation
- Rock loading with Front End Loaders
- Haul Truck Driving on a Mine Site
- Bulldozer and Motor Grader Operation
- Crushing and Conveying Equipment Operation
- Equipment Maintenance Operations
- Mine Facility Construction, (roads, waste rock dumps, retaining walls, etc.)
- Heap Leach Pads and Pipeline Operations
WHY VETERANS NEED US
- Veterans have been hit harder by the pandemic than other groups, reaching nearly 12% unemployment rate in 2020.
- About 1 in 7 Veterans employed today work in an industry considered high-risk for future layoffs.
- Veterans returning from service often have little in the way of easily transferable skills
